When Cathy (name changed for privacy) first joined our private Facebook group, her comments hit us right in the heart. She was 71, plus size, and said more than once that she was “too old” and “too big” to feel beautiful—especially in front of a camera.

At one point, we paused to adjust the lights and Cathy looked at us, then said softly:
“You really do know how to pose every body type.” She wasn’t joking anymore. She was seeing it. Feeling it. And when she looked at the back of the camera for the first time? She was shocked. She loved so many images and ended up going home with significantly more than what she expected to. She works in healthcare and is so used to taking care of those around her, that it was a big shock to do something only for herself.
