Recently, we had the honor of working with a truly inspiring woman who reminded us just how powerful self-care can be. This beautiful client flew cross-country from Colorado to our studio for a Maryland boudoir photography experience she had been dreaming about. She had heard glowing reviews from two women she knew personally who had previously worked with us (as we’re all plus size) and raved about their experiences. Inspired by their stories and the beautiful images she saw, she decided to go all in, booking her session months in advance and making plans to travel.

Understandably, as a curvy woman of color, she was a bit nervous beforehand. Finding professionals who understand the unique nuances of working with diverse skin tones can be tough, and she wanted to ensure her photoshoot would reflect her true beauty authentically. Luckily, we have an incredible hair and makeup artist on our team who has proven time and again that she knows exactly how to bring out the best in all our clients.
Our makeup artist, though Caucasian, has years of experience working with women of color. She understands the importance of getting undertones just right and knows how crucial it is to create a look that enhances natural beauty without washing out rich skin tones.
